Re: LS in USA
Yes indeed that water pump housing is a later one , modified to be as close as I could make it to the needed LS part. Not having or finding an original part with screwed in transmission tube , I did the best I could to make one that is as correct for the LS as possible. That is the case for a number ...

Re: LS in USA
The are two same square holes opposite each other, and two 1/8 ( aprox 4.25 mm) holes at 90 deg. from the square ones and in line with the square ones. The grip is permanently fixed on and it is one of the ones with the name on "Dover" or ?? Cant remember. Interesting what Bodgers do. WB

LS in USA
I have a tiller for an LS that has a couple square holes and small round ones at 90 degrees from the square. What were those holes for? Had they to do with the throttle lever bracket? Were thrust blocks for LS Aluminum or Bronze, or still the cotton spool black plastic? It is winter here. DSCN9182s ...

Re: An FVP in USA
Nudge, Please PM me about that 3 blade prop. I am just getting ready to send a few patterns to a foundry in Canada , so the timing would be good to send that prop for casting. I cannot do casting in winter. It is winter here. 12 deg. Far. this morning. WB

Re: An FVP in USA
Nudge, Here is a picture of my FVP three blade clover leaf prop. It is original Seagull, not re cast. As to hard and soft castings, I do not get technical with my metal sources. I use old outboard motor bits and pieces, so I get a mixture. Best Scrap Ali for casting I find is old pistons, Outboard ...

Re: An FVP in USA
Back to props: I have my props straightened out. Have a three blade about 8" on the FVP, and a four blade 8" to go on my LS. LS prop will need polishing . Great progress. This has been VERY ENLIGHTENING, AND HELPFUL. BTW: 12 deg. Far. this morning here, 18 Deg. Far this afternoon. As it warmed up a ...

Re: An FVP in USA
Now propellers: Which is the correct prop for the larger FVP and LS gearbox? See pictures. 4 blade clover leaf marked 40 minus has a much smaller hub than the gear box front. Should the four blade marked "100 only" be used ?. That has a bigger hub and larger diameter. WB DSCN9158s.JPG DSCN9159s.JPG ...

Thank you all and especially Jeremy. Sounds like a very good holiday there. SO I will go with black bakelite plug caps on my FVP and LS. Will order some Throttle cable makings form E-Bay vendors of motorcycle parts. Will see what I can do to obtain a raised boss early cyl head. I would still like ...

Thanks ALL, BUT We do not have Wilkos this side of the pond. AND very few bike or motor cycle shops in my district. First : What length should the cables be for the FV , FVP LS to -Villiers? Then what do we do to re make the little plated and crimped on ends of the outer black cable ? Yes, I can ...
