I think the problem is that they should be able to move and roll, but they don't roll very well once bolted up, so you end up with flat spots.
I don't need any myself, but I could print some up, now I have fixed the printer at last.

Thanks ALL, BUT We do not have Wilkos this side of the pond. AND very few bike or motor cycle shops in my district. First : What length should the cables be for the FV , FVP LS to -Villiers? Then what do we do to re make the little plated and crimped on ends of the outer black cable ? Yes, I can make tiny tubes on my lathe and solder them on. What is Blue Tack ?? We do not have brown Tufnol over here, would someone be willing to sell me three of the tube pieces , correct size or a length of the tubing? Will that tubing fit on to the regular black spark plug covers or is a different size needed. If a different size, who has them available ? If someone would be willing to supply three of the spark covers two piece , for FVP and LS, Please PM Me with cost . Of course I will pay postage as well. Thank you in advance for the help.

They are brown Champion plug caps about £15 on ebay, not seagull, the length of the throttle cable, I don't know off hand.
Blu-Tac is the British name of the reusable adhesive you stick to walls to hang art and/or posters.
Tufnol or paxolin is available if you can find the right size.

Blu tack otherwise know as plasti-tack in the USA available at hobby lobby or Walmart throttle cable size for fv-fvp-ls all differ my FVPs have 7" cables some may have longer/shorter that's up to you whatever suits as long as it works tufnol tubeing I only researched resently no need for it.as oyster states just use the black type you can purchase 2x brown ones on ebay for £29.99 then you would still need the tufnol tube also where as 2x black ones would be less anyway these one.s (brown) on ebay are lookalikes (plastic not bakelite)hope this helps.....

Historically Seagull throttle cables always seemed to right on the minimum length required, rumour has it that this was to cause them to self destruct, so the user had to purchase a new one from the only place that sold them.

You will find it almost impossible to find the correct adjuster for the Villiers cable, so you easiest option will be to shorten your existing cable by the same distance on the inner & outer, remember you can only cut it shorter not longer, & cut the outer 1" or 2" too long & try the outer only first to see how it looks.

Seagull haven't stocked these cables since pre late 60's.

We do indeed have Tufnol here - It's just another name for phenolic laminate, and It's available in many forms, in several grades.
Here's a link to some of the brown color tubing, from McMaster Carr - I buy from them all the time :

Lovely motor, BTW :~)

Thanks all for the replies and sources. I will investigate and buy cable kits. Charles , Yes I will be cautious on length.
Spark plug covers Brown Champion, Please give me one or two E-Bay links. 25Pounds + post, is rather dear, will think about whether to just use the black ones. SO progress is being made.
Back to FVP and LS Parts: can anyone hazard a guess at what point ( aprox. Serial number), the change was made from cylinder head with raised bosses for the studs, and no " Do Not Remove" to the heads with no raised bosses and the words added? WB

Has anyone got any documentary or picture evidence showing which & who's plug caps Marston or British Seagull used & approximately when?

As none of the pre war paperwork that I've seen, own or got copies of & that the spark plug is visible in, shows a plug cap of any form.

Nor is one mentioned in the Wartime paperwork or parts lists.

So nothing before 1946.

Jeremy any mentioned in your F,FV,FVP parts lists or instructions?

Anyone with any paperwork that covers the C & D series or the AC / AD range?

It would be a shame if we sent a member off on an expensive quest to buy something that was never fitted to his motor when it left the factory!
