Ok, I am removing the flywheel on my newly acquired 40 minus, and it is stuck. I know the drill, two man job...blow with hammer and all that stuff.
Here is my issue... I am GOING to get it off the shaft, but I wanted to use a sacrificial nut instead of the acorn that is original. I have been to the hardware store twice now and both times I have failed to find a nut with the thread pattern to match the shaft.
This seems soooooo simple, but does anyone know what the diameter and thread per inch is?

Is the thread pattern on the shaft bolt special?

OK, that makes my head spin. I found a UK source for hardware, and when I get time, I will search for a U.S. supplier. I have an old time marine supply store in San Diego that just might have what I need.

For Seagull supplies (nuts, etc. included), Sean would be close for you...

The part you probably require is "M1268".
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
