Re: leaking amal 2 jet

i`ve had the carby apart previously & cleaned everything, there was a fair bit of rubbish in it,new washers etc but still leaks.so should i pull it apart again ?

where would i get a new fuel line from ?

Re: leaking amal 2 jet

thanks for the replies.

it has a rubber hose that seems quite hard but no cracks or anything,o leak from the fuel tap, thread on the base of the carby seems fine.

i don`t think it`s a sticking float,as i have to operate the tickler a fair bit on start up to get fuel flowing.

cheers

Re: Scott Outboard

that name & address would be great if you don`t mind.

Re: long shaft to short ?

yep mine is a 1977 model with a step in the drive shaft tube where it goes into the water pump housing,so need to cut & shut it along with the clutch rod.

but came up with another idea while down on the shed.photo attached.

long shaft to short ?

hi,
can i turn my long shaft wspc into a short shaft without too many dramas ? it`s about 8 inches too long for my boat & was thinking i could shorten the exhaust tube, drive shaft & do a cut & shut on the drive shaft tube, sounds easy enough to me,what do others think ? has it been done before ...

Leaky Amal Carb on WSPC

HI have a WSPC long shaft which has i believe the Amal 2 jet carby on it.it is leakiny from the base of the float chamber & the base of the mixing chamber body,am new to seagulls & am asking for ideas on how to fix this.

is it as simple as putting a kit through the carby or replacing washers ...
