hi chris,no not the fuel tap mate.i`ve had this problem since i got the motor,put a new fuel tap in & it`s still doing it

i`ve had the carby apart previously & cleaned everything,there was a fair bit of rubbish in it,new washers etc but still leaks.so should i pull it apart again ?
where would i get a new fuel line from ?

thanks for the replies.
it has a rubber hose that seems quite hard but no cracks or anything,o leak from the fuel tap,thread on the base of the carby seems fine.
i don`t think it`s a sticking float,as i have to operate the tickler a fair bit on start up to get fuel flowing.

leaking amal 2 jet
the amal 2 jet on my motor leaks from the banjo bolt & also where the fuel hose connects to the float chamber.have replaced washers on the banjo but still no luck.
is there a way to stop the leaks ?

thanks for the replies phil.after doing some searching online it appears the motor i`m considering is a 1962, 7.5 hp model.

it`s almost identical to that one but where the word mc culloch the one i`m looking at has the words "fishing scott"

yep mine is a 1977 model with a step in the drive shaft tube where it goes into the water pump housing,so need to cut & shut it along with the clutch rod.
but came up with another idea while down on the shed.photo attached.

hi,
can i turn my long shaft wspc into a short shaft without too many dramas ? it`s about 8 inches too long for my boat & was thinking i could shorten the exhaust tube,drive shaft & do a cut & shut on the drive shaft tube,sounds easy enough to me,what do others think ? has it been done before ...

Leaky Amal Carb on WSPC
HI have a WSPC long shaft which has i believe the Amal 2 jet carby on it.it is leakiny from the base of the float chamber & the base of the mixing chamber body,am new to seagulls & am asking for ideas on how to fix this.
is it as simple as putting a kit through the carby or replacing washers ...
