And here is a little video of her first start up, a bit smokey at first but not too bad once she got going :D

just one teencey weencey little thing wrong here!

FERGAL, move the exhaust clamp at the top of the exhaust tube 180 degrees so that the bolt sits between the torque tube and exhaust tube, that way the motor won't suddenly jump into gear?
the idea is that the clutch rod will sit on top of the flat section of the clamp and cannot drop down until sideways and up movement on the clutch lever is imposed.
(took me a while to work that one out but does leave scratch marks on the clamp and exhaust tube but works a treat)

still not sure about the fuel tap though!
as long as you like it, thats all that matters.

as before, nice, VERY NICE
enjoy it :D

To slow posting :D
Looks good, nice job.
Two points, if you turn the top exhaust clamp, so that the bolt is under the cylinder it will hold in gear, as its trying to hold on the rounder part of the clamp at the moment.
Second, I would put a couple of split pins in the drive tube transom mount as you may end up with a nice transom on a boat but no outboard.
Next project ?

Thanks all tips welcome :D The tap may go yet as soon as I get a bit of pipe.

Wow... wonderful! You have done this before. Would the fuel tap under the bowl be for an auxiliary tank? Original exhaust tube taken down to brass?

Trouble being that doesn't stop the stud coming loose which seems to happen to me half the time....locktite?

Oyster, you have some serious competition in front of you :D

Very Well Done!

I like the Extra additions.

Additions should be something to aspire to.

Very 8) your motor!

Hugz,
Re the drive tube mount. Not that I ever have a problem with the studs coming out, salt water takes care of that. What I do though is run a seizing wire through one stud to the other. Then they can't back out and th nuts can't come off.

Fergal,
Very nice restoration, well done. Would seem a shame to get it wet.

Thanks guy's :D I hope I don't have to get it wet myself as she will only be used as a backup engine. I'm bidding on this bracket at the moment http://www.ebay.com/itm/281368030956?ss ... 1423.l2648 as I like the fact that you can have just a small plate left on the transom instead of the bracket.
I used the newer type on the other boat I built and it looked ok.
