Whats the correct procedure for fitting the conrods?
to centuries etc as i notice if the screw is over tightened the rod binds
so how tight for the screws ?

The conrod should just fall over on its own...

It sounds like you have the end cap fitted the wrong way around.
You will see on your rod, a cast feature right by the parting line you will also see a similar mark on the end cap, these should be both on the same side!
Does your rod have a brass shell bearing location spacer on each side? Is the big end journal in good condition 0.6245" to 0.625"?
The rod big end screws should be torqued up to 7 ft lbs, if the journal is within the above tolerances & the screws at the right torque & it still binds, you've distorted the cap & need to buy a new rod from John.
