British Seagull 170 remote set up kit

Post by Steven »

I have just converted my Seagull 170 from remote to tiller control and I have the full remote set up available and in guaranteed working condition. It is all original as supplied by British Seagull and in excellent condition.

Conversion Kit -
- remote throttle lever and mounting bracket (a mirror image of your exisitng gear lever for the port side)
- correct throttle cable
- brass cable retaining post with nut
- linkage frame for gear along with the correct machine screws for securing it (screws directly into your tray)

Original Control Box and Cabling -
- ultraflex remote cotrol box with single lever that engages forward or reverse at the same time as powering up. This makes it impossible to over rev the engine in neutral and ensures that drive is only ever engaged at idle tick over.
- throttle and gear cables are already fitted to the control box
- tiller cable also supplied

All you need is a 170 Seagull, a boat to hang it off and a ships wheel and you have your very own Seagull driven Gin Palace! 8)

I'm happy to split the conversion kit and Control Box.

Open to offers or come around and have a look if your around or passing through Stirling!

Hi John
The 170 remote bits that I have are not a direct fit for the QB - the frame that bolts on to the 170 would have nowhere to screw on to a QB.
The control box is a standard Ultraflex Control Box and would fit lots if not most motors that are set up to take control cables.

Forgive my ignorance on these things but would it fit a 90/110 and I am assuming it is still available, which it might not be.

Hi Gaffers
Yup - still available but no it will not fit a 90/110
Different gear change system and nowhere to bolt it to.
