Yep that's the one.

Now I've got a basic problem. Where can I get some spark plug lead with the wire core? Apparently it is illegal to use in cars because it lacks rf noise suppression. They now use carbon fibre which is not going to clamp in the magneto. Lawn mowers still use wired core but they are pre made and are too short. Motor bikes use them but they are special order items  . I have a couple of new seagull leads from John but it seems a waste to chop the end off (do they have inner wire?). Any ideas?

Try Flea-Bay, magneto HT lead, easy to get, if it was the smaller gauge, (strimmer type) then I have about 40ft of the stuff.

That's how a lot of small, 2-stroke methanol/nitro/castor-oil fueled radio control airplane motors work, right up to the point that they become weed-whacker engines. After that, it's probably back to reed valves etc.
There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.

Indeed, beats Seagulls for dead me thinks. But then they don't have the looks..... Couldn't but help notice that my primary has a nice ass when she bent over. Honestly, I've taken her for granted all these years. Feel a bit guilty actually. Getting old.

Anyway.... couple of nice ones coming up.....

Almost identical apart from painted transom bracket. I realised after the event that it is not a good idea to run these dry with the rubber doughnut water pump arrangement. Now... do I worry about ding in tank? Quite right.... need to pay more attention

I mentioned that casting dates are there where the lower crankcase clamps to the tube under the transom clamp swivel. Have to remove the circlip on the skinny models etc to see it. Last two digits are casting year? Worked for me with five of them so far with that but, let me know otherwise if you can eh?
Just picked up an identical second one. Suppose to be for parts but I believe I can get it going. A matched pair would look good on a transom.

Numbers:

PO/14428/S
PO/16414/S

Not sure that I could work out a date from that!

Pull it apart!

Other numbers will make more sense as per casting date.

2nd time as per hint.
