RE. Does anyone know here the correct name for the Green Paint applied to flywheel?
IRR GREEN SATIN LRC553.
A traditional single part Synthetic Coach Enamel paint. This was used by the Army, RAF, & Royal Navy, occasionally over-painting NATO Green Gloss.
May or may not be the correct answer.

I always say it's not me that they want. but I will go and get someone.

Back in the sixties, I started as a mechanic for a rather large letter delivery company.
We had a fleet of telegram bikes, (BSA Bantams), and these ran with ordinary SAE 30 oil in the petrol.
I used the same in large and small outboards with no ill effects.
I think that this "special" oil for 2 ...

RE:- The carb is the twin barrel Amal, there are conflicting reports about bronze versions of this, or bronze parts. I have three SDs in the workshop, and all three have what I call normal Amal carbs - no bronze. (from CharlesP)

Try changing the condenser with a known working one, (It,s mounted below the points).
