Saving Old Seagulls

RE. Does anyone know here the correct name for the Green Paint applied to flywheel?

IRR GREEN SATIN LRC553.
A traditional single part Synthetic Coach Enamel paint. This was used by the Army, RAF, & Royal Navy, occasionally over-painting NATO Green Gloss.

May or may not be the correct answer.

Any of you guys got one ?
I have never seen a 102 with reverse.

I always say it's not me that they want. but I will go and get someone.
This leaves them holding on the line, until they get bored. or realise that they have been tricked.

Downside is that it leaves the phone line tied up.

Have you noticed how many of the incomplete or "spares" ones are missing the fuel tank
Is there a national shortage
Hope so co's i may well "clean up" I seem to have more tanks than running engines

Back in the sixties, I started as a mechanic for a rather large letter delivery company.
We had a fleet of telegram bikes, (BSA Bantams), and these ran with ordinary SAE 30 oil in the petrol.

I used the same in large and small outboards with no ill effects.

I think that this "special" oil for 2 ...

This is believed to be a military bracket, very similar to yours.

RE:- The carb is the twin barrel Amal, there are conflicting reports about bronze versions of this, or bronze parts. I have three SDs in the workshop, and all three have what I call normal Amal carbs - no bronze. (from CharlesP)

I have a 102 with a bronze carb, (AD3260), It also has very thin brass ...

sadly due to rust this old engine of 1971 vintage will never again chug the waterways of this country

Might just buy this one and accept the challenge

Try changing the condenser with a known working one, (It,s mounted below the points).
