I'm reading of a tidal flood that might be smashing into the east coast a little north of most of the guys here, and hoping that the warnings were heeded and that you and yours found high ground before the waters came in. I think it's right about now. 4:00am by me is your 9:00am, right?
Take care ...

We're getting closer and closer to the new house. The wife asked me this morning, "What are you most looking forward to? A bigger yard? Our own pool? The neighborhood?"
Honestly, it's the workbench. Where I am now, I have to do all my tinkering out on a picnic table. Yep, it's the workbench...which ...

Okay, let's make sure I have this right. My memory is failing me right now, and the outboard is up at my cabin- 100 miles from here. it's definitely a WSPCL. No question about that. The rest, I'll have to do from memory. I have the run on video right in front of me, with no way to upload. I'll have ...

Well...it's probably not the "drive leg". I got cute, using a term I was not familiar with. It's the smaller of the two tubes. Up near the block, there are two holes there, one on top of the other...it's almost certainly intended to have something come out of it, and I assume that would be ...

How did you find SOS?
Just wondering...I know how I found it. Wikipedia! Yep. Johnny is listed as an 'external source', and I lucked into a veritable mine of information. Luckily, no pickaxes or hardhats with lanterns attached are needed. It's not that kind of mine. Really.

I think I broke my monitor while trying to read the wording of the decal.
(Note: By 'monitor', I mean the screen portion of my workplace computer. This post should not be taken to mean that any large lizards were harmed while reading. I do not have direct access to that type of monitor, to ...

TC's 1975 WSPCL "Maiden" voyage: A Recap
Finally, almost two years to the day I literally pulled her out of a scrap metal heap, the Seagull was mounted to a boat and taken out on a freshwater lake in Sullivan County, NY. For posterity, my wife was shooting it on video. (She pretended to understand why I wanted it taped, but her bemused ...

Re: ISO 460
You can also look for gear oils that are ISO 460 which is the equivalent of SAE 140 under the newer viscosity rating scale. Grainger carries it, at least in their online catalog: Mobil 634 which does have EP additives but 1B copper corrosion test results.

In the absence of a supply of SAE 140 could a concoction of say EP90 and a slug of grease to thicken it up do the job?
In the last week, I've had three people tell me to use the 90 and add some Lucas to it. I'm going to stick to spec, but it's interesting...the Lucas wouldn't necessarily thicken ...
