Woo hoo, just noticed our newest member is "Hippy"!
Yo Bro
Must get some paper on the water and "marble" some of the psychedelic rainbow form changers the gulls create....

Hi Hugz,
Cheers for the welcome. Nice to be among like minded folks. Just a little creation as was bored. Have a good number of seagulls( featherweights up to 102s) but its not often you have a spare gearbox/leg, a lawnmower engine and a man cave. Sorry to offend the purist but I get bored sometimes.......

Two self admitting Hippies...................the site is going to rack and roonie'

When I or anybody else admits/attempts a faithful Re-Gull.......I do have a purist gene or three aye.
Welcome Hippy.

Hi,
Coming from motorcycle modding world I always think "I wonder if these bits go together?" Being a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton 4.5hp it has more torque than the Seagull head. Similar max revs as the gull and an absolute breeze to start. Not sure what all the gull bits are off although the box is I believe a late 70s 102. Transom bracket is a gull one I had lying about. Bit of faffing setting the carb to run the full rev range as opposed to being governed to about 1750 rpm. Tiller (a redundant strut from a well known attack helicopter) is extendable so can sit forward in the boat and run better on the water. It runs up lovely in the wheelie bin all the way through the revs. Yet to try on the water but fingers crossed eh? The cavitation plate thingy is so I can bolt a couple of hydrofoil things to as I've wanted to try some for ages to get the boat more on the level.
Unfortunately can't put vid of wheelie bin run to confirm.

Collector Inspecter, I wouldn't actually call this a Re-gull but more of a Briggish Seagull. Lol. Best of both worlds, no water works to worry about and it makes one hell of a strimmer.......

Hugo, a Hippy Drive on an Inter-galactic Vessel would be so relaxed..........it would never show up for bath night?
I think there was a movie called "Space Hippies"?

Cheers AusAnzani,
I am sure my time will be amusing on here. Certainly seems to have a few characters.
Anyone got any ideas for a seagull powered jet drive yet??

I never did build a hippy motor. Chilli Dog did a brass one. I believe you, Bruce, were going to build a themed one but I can't remember what the theme was. I've seen an Union Jack themed gull. I can't find a picture of it though but have found this Gal. Rather Hippyish!

Apparently this gal is easier to start than a gull but runs a bit hot. No good for your blood pressure either!

That rings a bells. I might watch this DVD tonight, I need some spiritual intervention.
