What jet in a Bing?

Post by carrsgarage »

I just acquired a 40 Featherweight from an ebay auction. The seller listed it as complete. Apparently complete does not include the carburetor jet. So, can anyone tell me what the part number for the jet would be? I called the folks at bingcarburetors.com and gave them the 44/021 part number but I need the last two numbers (jet size) to actually order one.

Also, I can't get the plastic plug out of the gearbox. Any thoughts before I mangle it?

Thanks!

The nice lady at bingcarburetors.com said there was one more set of two numbers at the end which would be the jet size (44/021/XX). John is in UK, correct? The Bing folks are here in the states.

Exactly, from the states you may get it quicker. Unfortunately I don't have a jet to see and tell you. Only some other bits from bing carbs. The jet housing has stamped "2.20". I don't know if that helps.

The folks at Bingcarburetors.com weren't able to turn up anything. I just sent John an email. Now to sit patiently with my fingers crossed.
