Diesel outboards

I read in MBM a few years ago that a company was planning on producing a diesel outboard line up. I haven't heard anything since

Has any one ever produced a diesel outboard motor before... I'm sure I've heard of a Volvo Diesel motor but the 'expert' in the marina next door said its a myth.

As Mr Hugz has posted up. That answers your question. But there biggest let down is there wieght. There just under 4 times as heavy as a 2 stroke engine around the same Hp. Thats why there not a big seller. To Heavy, and to expensive to buy.

Google- amarc diesel you tube. Warning you need a high speed connection unless you don't mind downloading in snippets.

It takes a minute to warm up, then you see how it pushes the boat, I'll take a Seagull any day!

Cheers... my internet connection is a bit hit'n'miss lately and google doesn't work, I may have wipe and re-install my computer :x

I was wondering about alternative main engines for my 18ft Dory, I have to bond a new transom in and wondered about beefing it up to take a bigger motor... I'll stick with the Seagull sounds much nicer :)
The fuel line from the boat to the diesel motor, is it a high pressure feed?

Im think you will find its a normal fuel line feed from the remote fuel tank, to the fuel filters, but then its all high pressure from the injector pump and fuel rail.
