"The Gull" Issue#3 - OUT NOW!!

Post by Buzzook »

Charles has already posted the link up here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2803#p26341

But if that isn't working as it's overloaded, it's also available here:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?duda1doafkf99en

You'll note that the RISR feature is done as 'double-page spreads' like a normal paper magazine....this is an experiment...as we're contemplating whether or not to go to 'page flipping' software so it would display as double pages like some of the online catalogues and such you get these days. Make reading it more like reading a normal magazine...

So would be interested in feedback as to whether or not people think this is a good idea. Do the double pages 'work' or is it too much of a PITA having to zoom in and scroll around to read it...

Would people prefer it to remain a 'single page scrolling' format like the first two...which were done that way to make it 'easiest' to read on screen or online...or whatever....

Your thoughts..???

Fantastic Mark" 8) 8) . I reckon just leave it PDF. It would be a whole lot better to just scroll down single page style and click to your required text size as you read along. The other way would be a pain. "Top Job Mate"

Ps; I just clicked on Charles link. Using Mediafire is exellent. Brilliant straight of the bat. The pics are crystal clear. and the text size is great. No reading glasses needed for Mediafire. Just My opinion, What does everyone else think :?: :?:

Takes so long to load on either of those links I just gave up. It is very very slow to download.

Is that not a problem your end Charles?

Good job Mark. I also saw you article in the AOMCI mag with the picture of Charles L.

I like the PDF version myself.

Perhaps we all need to do something more with our seagulls for issue No.4

It took a long time (8 minutes) to download here too, on a 100Mb fibre link.
But it was worth waiting for. Thanks for the effort. It is a pity no one sent pics of the inaugural Tasmanian Seagull Owners Flocking.

It took less than a minute to download, even though I'm only getting 35Mbps and should be 60Mbps.

p24 has the report on the Inaugural Tasmanian meet under heading New Norfolk.....

Only two pics, but I had only three to choose from ;)

Slow download time is usually due to multiple 'dowloaders' - if it happens, best to try again later.

As most people around the world got the email notification at or around the same time, it's feasible that a dozen or more were attempting to download at once....hence why it can be slow.

but it is now too big a file to email..!!

No luck, left it running while I put the washing out. The progress bar is full, all the little roundy things are still rotating. That's a shame.

Here the best I get get is perhaps 5Mbps, and that's occasionally.

I find that hard to believe...no-one else found such a problem and both John's site and mediaFire hosting are reputable sites with proper security that should not allow anyone else to 'attach' anything to the PDF file.

Hope you're not suggesting either John or I had anything to do with a 'trojan'....???
