please help i have just bought boat motor with a villiers type 5F engine i dont think its a seagul as i cannot find any listed with this engine. there know model numbers on shaft or anywhere i can find except the villiers engine ID plate with serial 318x009 made in wolverhampton i think it says..the viliers carbi has a s12 stamp on it if this helps...will post pics soon as i work it out any help will be greatly appreciated thankyou

Think the Villiers 5F is an early 1950's motorcycle engine of about 98cc and not much horsepower!!!
Villiers had their factory in Wolves and there are still people there who supply new old stock parts for the motors.
Suppose someone could have found a means of fixing one to a marine gearbox, would love to see a photo of it.
Also, I think ATCO used Villiers components for their "Boat Impellors" which can be identified by the cylinder head cooling fins.
