Starting seagulls in dinghys

Post by Bilge Rat »

My little 40 featherweight won't start in the dinghy when I'm alone but starts fine in a tank. This
forum has put forward the notion that it is because the engine is too deep blocking the exhaust
relief holes. I am quite happy with that but is it possible to buy or make something to lift the engine
up a few inches as I am mostly alone when in the dinghy, or, do I have to have someone with me all
the time to level the boat for starting.
regards
George.

You can get an adjuster clamps or you could just try a small peace of rubber tube, cut lengthways and put around the drive tube and just jubilee clip it to the high you need.
