C- Powa

Post by shistlepot »

Just acquired another couple of outboards this weekend
1 C-POWA 5 HP in excellent condition (see write up by Bruce elsewhere on site) also a 5 HP Yamaha air cooled, early 70' model
This outboard is awsome, and exceptionally well made, it had been laying around for 10 years the guy told me, but it did not take much to
get it to run. will post photos later, been busy susing out the new toys.
PS. Bruce, the tank on the C-POWA is brass and has the almost ornate brackets soldered onto the tank which then bolt to the Head.

Don't laugh but I have a 1963-65 Yamaha PC3. I left it in the cupboard because I thought the water jackets were blocked. Never considered that it might be air cooled  Might go and dig it up as it runs well and has a centrifugal clutch....

Hi ED

I have C-Powa serial numbers #207 and #637. Only one of them has the original brass tank. Nice bit of gear!

Hugz, have a close look at the exhaust part of the leg, it may have an intake tube, which I think is used to cool the gear box. I discovered
the one on my Yammy when I tip it upside down. The Bloody thing weighs 24 Kilos for a 5HP, but its awsome.

Bruce, I saw the photos of your C-Powas, Mark sent them.I love the tanks, their a work of art. i am designing A carry handle/tank/sprk plug protectector
for mine.will send photos soon

Cheers Ed
