Crankcase/cylinder leak

Post by livewire »

Hi Guru's

Just done my second trip with my forty minus. I noticed the residue of a small leak after it's maiden voyage. Now today i have seen where it is weeping from.

I can it's coming from the join of the crankcase and cylinder block. Where a paper gasket is used on the joint. I haven't split it and it is weeping from the top under the flywheel area.

Do i worry abaout it and fix it with a new gasket? Or do i ignore it and carry on regardless?

I have gone through all 13 pages of help and can't find the answer to my question.

Cheers Vic,

It seems to run very well. It started second pull following my partial rebuild. Then following a good run now starts up first pull from hot or cold
