Some interesting motors

Since starting my interest in the Seagulls I have been approached to look after the engine collection at the Maritime Museum here in Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island where I live...of course I said YES!!...here are a few pictures of some of my charges to look after.



They are all in "As found condition"...all are fixed to run then they are put on display



I have a few of my motors on display the three below...of course I have cleaned mine up a bit.



Here is my little 3/4hp Neptune...it weighs about 12pounds...my cleaned up small 40 is in the background...I stripped the tank for painting but do not have the heart to put paint over the brass!




Here is an unusual engine...


An "Indian" engine.

I will try to get some more pics up in a short while...there is an old motor graveyard in the cellar of the building with dozens of old motors...some are very old going back to the 1920"s.

Really nice, Tony. It's like someone gave you the keys to the candy store. Hopefully you get to run some once in awhile, all in the interest of keeping them lubricated and fresh, of course.
