Essentially you have, with that setup, a direct drive "Century" since the 40+ and (Silver)Century direct drive models share the same 35:10 ratio gearbox. The prop for this gearbox, when driven by 102cc, is the 5 blade 9inch hydrofan part # 100/1409. Other props could possibly be used however that prop hub shape matches the outline of the gear casing to minimise drag.

Seems a lot of work to reduce a 102 exhaust to fit the 40+ pump housing . Wouldn't it have been a lot easier to have simply used the larger Silver or Century pump housing #100/1358 that matches that gearbox?

Rob if you can find yourself a Century 100 LLS or W or a Silver Century S or WS you will get the right Prop, exhaust tube & a water pump housing that will save you messing with the 102 exhaust tube & a water delivery pipe that was made for the job.

You don't have to run water back into the exhaust tube but it will quieten it down a little if you do.

The 3.5 : 1 lower unit is not as pretty or sleek as the 102 2.5 : 1 gear box don't do it!
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Too late - it's done, water into the exhaust etc. Can't tell the difference in the sound with my standard 102 and C100.

Well, I already have a 102 and a C100 and some 40+'s. This combination looks very smart, reminds me of the tapered exhausts of the early Seagulls.

My other 102 developed a terminal case of gearbox failure and as I just happened to have a complete 40+ spare leg and gearbox .... It fits, all I have to do is find some way of locating the bottom end of the 102 pipe to the 40+ small exhaust stub. And it's an easy/better solution to trying to fit the 'S' section of the water pump connection. Sound a bit LOUD when I fire it up!
