Help - Stifled Responses Festering

Post by rosbullterier »

Would 'Help' be the right format to voice my inability to post Replies?

Several times thought response to postings have mulled around upstairs, so tapped the Post Reply and - nothing - just directed to the main page of posts listings.

All that vitriol, banter, abuse, slander is festering around the cranial canals; the denial of Right To Reply is causing permanent and long lasting mental damage to my Collecting Urges.

Incidentally, at the bottom of the post page is printed:

You cannot post new topics in this forum
You cannot reply to topics in this forum
You cannot edit your posts in this forum
You cannot delete your posts in this forum
You cannot vote in polls in this forum

Does no 2 just apply to me? :?

I've also noticed a variability in the response to issuing a "post reply" since last software update. Get dumped back into Forum main page rather opening a input response screen. Not had a refusal to allow posts yet.

The response you are getting suggests it doesn't recognise you as logged in.........

Hang on in there chaps, Brendan is working on it!

with any luck we will end up with a better and more secure system, but it may take a week or two yet! Main thing is we have all the old Forum saved and now transfered to the new host...

John

In the mean time, try logging in twice on the main forum index page, I have found the first log in doesn't fully 'take' somehow.........

Hi..

The phpBB that this site runs on is susceptible to a few 'glitches' like this.

If you log on and check the 'Remember me' or whatever the check box is under your password, it should solve the issue. Its to do with the BB setting a cookie on your browser.

HTH

Cheers

I find if you click on reply, you are directed to log in, then it seems to work. If you log in first, then try to reply it doesn't work, and you lose your reply as it asks for a log in.
