It's all good.

Where would we be if we didn't share information? Probably wading through a lot of myths and legends i suspect.
My interest with all this was to see how a small company such as BS progressed through the years from the early pre-war years, through to the war time period and beyond.
It's only now after researching different bits and bobs that i can start to see just how varied a typical outboard motor design could be. Some things changed quite dramatically over the years, in other respects some things didn't really change that much.

Any way, the hunt continues for a coil.

I do not understand the search for a coil Jon. Could you let us know the dimensions of it?

If not i'll have to go out in the rain to the shed and find my tape measure.

He's talking about the standard Villiers M1634 coil, Bruce, 62.5mm long, 35mm diameter, with a 7/16" inch diameter core.

I used a Villiers coil off a later ignition to make this stator plate up.
Just need to work out where I put my brass points boxes.
Its now officially kitchen table weather.
