Charles L said that I would need to watch that the trumpet was well screwed on or even glued on. With such a short thread it would not take much vibration to loose the trumpet.

It looks like Seagull had the same problem

Image

They have used what looks like a throttle clamp (ball ended screw) to help the trumpet stay on.
Or is it a choke assembly?

Where did that pic come from HA.

Seagull obviously had the same problem with the cast choke shrouds hence the leather washer used on a lot of the 400 series carbs that didn't have the silenced air intakes.

The brochure is the 1939 one, so it has to be an ON as you say.

The brochures frequently seem to feature pictures of motors that are 'non-standard' - the other Charles and myself had quite an entertaining half hour picking out differences in the 1936 one where the OJ was introduced.

On the right there's what looks almost like a Villiers air intake.

Betcha don't know the name of the boat....

Nahhhh .... that's the special knurled and turned alloy bollard-ette to hang your pull cord on !!!! ....discontinued to save costs :D

.....or it's a lashed up pic ??

not being picky but ...
grab handle on the tank in main pic ?
tank is a 102 with filler cap to the side ??

blown up pic 'photoshopped' to graft on the correct position for a central filler cap ?

....and I further offer as proof m'Lud, that the whole tank has been 'dropped in' ....or was this one of the very very rare straplessly fitted tanks ??

boats name was Morning Mist...and thats a young Ted Heath ?

The tank with the central filler is borrowed from a 102cc Marston ( OG, OH or an OK, welded on support legs, 6" diameter)

We haven't seen one of those "transom" brackets yet, but there are several pics around, I'm sure one will turn up.

We think they didn't like to spend heaps of money on photographers & cobbled together negatives from up to 10 years earlier, when producing early brouchures.
