Bow tie propeller

Post by rosbullterier »

Sagacious gents - what is the diameter of the bow tie prop please?

Our learned friend from Melbourne (what time is it there - does he ever sleep?) has designed a propeller shape for my HA beating catamaran with his software.

He thinks it should achieve an enormous speed

Just been down to the workshop. The only bow ties I have are sitting on motors, and I'm clean so didn't want to take them off, which is all an excuse for inaccuracy.

9" from tip to tip is the best I can do!

I quote from the other forum

R-B-T says " I regularly contribute and submit questions to the 'Save our Seagulls' forum. However their technical prowess is mostly limited to 'how to make them work' or the 'collection of magneto numbers and their polishing'. Oh dear - I hope none of them read this . . .

How rude, I do think that he will stop at nothing in his blinkered quest for that bit of extra speed, we do hate sore losers :D

I am keeping my ground breaking R and D top secret, hull design and super-duper prop secrets kept behind locked doors.

Easily faster than a white cat H-A

Which other forum is that?
However their technical prowess is mostly limited to 'how to make them work' or the 'collection of magneto numbers and their polishing

Collecting the magneto numbers! What sort of sad trainspotting twit would do that!

But he's still happy to ask questions here....

Andy you've dun it now.

You just don't know how important magneto numbers are to me, in fact both magneto numbers & thoughts of you, fill my mind during my infrequent sessions of nocturnal gymnastics, they really help to prolong them.

Sorry R-B-T to rub salt but it gets worse :!:
The over 12 foot class is easy to win with a long slim skiff
I agree Anzani, Archimedes and such are much better engines
I'm not sure if we have the expertise in the UK for prop reshaping.

I’m beginning to feel sorry for poor old R-B-T.
He seems to have a morbid aversion to polishing yet he is obsessed with trying to attain high speeds from a craft that resembles two pirogues lashed together.
Although of limited technical prowess,I am inclined to surmise that if he polished the aforementioned craft it may have less drag at the heady velocities that he seeks.

Another skill that was lacking. That's probably the first time I have ever used one anywhere!

I am becoming increasingly concerened for the other Charles' sanity.

Prop reshaping? Rubbish! I've done quite a few in my time, the rocks in the river Crouch are quite effective

Must dash, I'm nearly out of Solvol Autosol wanna be at the hardware shop when it opens
