The purist should read no further.

A couple of years ago I picked up a box of Seagull parts at the Carrigfergus boat jumble.Haven't been back since

So I figured I might use them to Frankenstein a wee gull for my Mirror dingy, and see what could actually cobbled together from the bits.
I cut my own crankcase/block from gasket paper.
Son-in-law is model maker, robbed a piece of copper sheet from him and cut the head gasket from that.
Assembled crankcase and block
So a chat with Tam,thanks for the bitties.
Soaked and cleaned said bitties, threw the whole lot together, borrowed the tank and fuel line from the 40 Plus.
Because I was firing it up out of water and on a not too strong a bracket,I used the dreaded socket on a drill method. Two seconds later she's running.
So I closed it off and out of curiosity,I pulled it with the rope and away it went again.
There's no number on the crankcase,so probably NOS.
What it does show is the sturdiness of these wee single cylinder engines.
I plan to take a angle grinder to it and reduce it in length to fit on the Mirror, mind you I do have a height adjuster, but I think cutting might put less torque on the Mirrors transom.
