That's a very big increase for just a hone, new rings & an early head or did you skim the top off the cylinder?
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Re: Silver Century not starting
No skimming done by me. Just sealed the head-gasket-cylinder meticulously. It was a secondhand replacement piston too, which I polished up. My first reading was done while engine was cold as it was a non-runner. Second reading was taken straight after a ten min tank run. Just pulled it over 3 times with tester attached. I was running it 10:1 with quicksilver premium.
Needless to say I’m very happy with the 70psi reading.

Re: Silver Century not starting
I have a project, now a bit old that started out with outstanding compression........then I played with the head a lot to get 92psi at the end. Gasket and sealing not copper gasket any more etc.
ESPCL486JJ1
The original head on it was visually "a thin casting" when viewed side on. I have no idea why anyone would have machined it......it presented surfaces like any other BS head.
I should drag it out and continue the old thread.........later.
Have you compared your head dimensions with any others?
Interested aye.
Good work and
