Greetings
Can I replace the flywheel and ignition plate of a CPCL 9404 MK 1 with a WSPCL 1173EEF8 MK 2?. Or will there be timing issues. Thanks much for maintaining this forum. It's entertaining, informative and therapeutic.

You certainly can exchange out the Villiers MK 1 ignition assembly on your Century Plus for a Wipac MK 2 ignition assembly from a Silver Century without any problems at all.
The British Seagull parts lists actually announce that the complete assemblies are interchangeable with the Wipac assembly superseding the earlier Villiers. One thing to note is that the flywheel is part of the ignition assembly and you must therefore use the flywheel from the Silver Century. You can't mix and match a Villiers ignition plate with a Wipac flywheel or vice versa.
Hope that helps.
