It looks like the engine was left full of water and then froze. The exhaust port is cracked and burst. It was running and this only came to light when the exhaust tube was removed.
Engine serial number EFNR 564FF9 90 series.
Thank you.

That's the power of expanding iron oxide!
Any silver century cylinder will suit, try British Seagull first, part number S100/1299, then give John Williams a try, after that take your chances on Ebay.

Re: Wanted: Cylinder block for 90 series
Got one online. Head and new gasket.
I am going to hone the bore do I will need to remove the head.
How tight do the bolts go and how tight is that without a torque wrench??
Thanks!

There is a thread for bolt sizes and torques -
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6040
18 ft lbs is quoted there - which if you don't have a torque wrench - is not a lot !
As to goo - for sealing - I have always used Wellseal and have had no issues with it. Just a nice old fashioned gunge. I have always taken off heads - checked pistons skirts and rings etc. Never been a problem.
