Forty featherweight starting problem

Post by steve66 »

Hi, I have a forty feafterweight that has a slight irritating problem.I vent the tank, flood tha carb, put a few revs on close the choke and try to start it but nothing. If i block the opening on the carb intake it starts first time every time.Once its running its sweet as a nut and once warm the problem disappears.Any help and comments will be gratefully recieved.

Have you tried opening the throttle to around 3/4 on start up with choke fully in place? Each Seagulls seems to have their own start requirements.

Hugo.

have owned seagulls for 35 years, don't have a clue about the technical side and am not interested, only know how to keep them reliable and going
