a technical question from a mere spanner wielder

a rather bu**ered thread (have to carefull here with technical terms) on the dome nut end of the crank

what is the right size of the die to repair / tidy this thread up ?

A gud tip if u have a spare nut is using a hacksaw cut through to the inside of hole on one side of nut then run this nut down thread may clean thread up.

if only cos I dont have a spare dome nut to sacrifice in such a devil-may-care proposal

kinda meaning I'm a bit short on dome nuts at the moment ....

interesting having thought about it tho...as the dome nut is brass, wouldn't it wear before the crank thread being as that's steel ?
