Re: Aluminium G clamp Transom Bracket
No point putting up a stainless one.
The problem with the cast ones is, they can be very loose fitting, whereas the modern stainless ones can be a pain to get out.
Are you saying the aluminium G clamps have ST 1326-9T on them like the early bronze ones, or that they just have the same part number?

Perhaps I didn't express myself very well Jon, the last of the Seagull transom bracket, to have the L shaped transom screw was the grooved bronze G cramp with ST 1326-9T cast on it, sorry I thought it was clear that the skeletal & the Ali G also had them.
You've got a lot more to get Hugo, side mount, brass bolt on 40, nylon & brass bolt on century, Mercury style curlew, Kingfisher.
At least you won't have to worry about starting them.
side mounts on ebay at the moment

That's only half of one, I've got three quarters of one, not that you'd ever use it.
Another bit of rubbish I collected while researching bloody Seagull products.

That's half the trouble with collecting is knowing when to stop...
Otherwise you end up with drawers full of old junk that's either incomplete, worthless,or at the opposite end of the scale almost priceless with only a very few select people around the world that would know what it is and to anybody else would think it was another bit of old junk.
I'm seeing quite a lot of this recently on ebay with various items for sale listed as vintage or rare with a price tag to match. I guess its that time of year again.

If said "junk" has some use down the line or a purpose in the near future then it's not JUNK. It's collectable "STUFF"
It's only junk when nobody wants it, or it's the same as what everyone else is trying to sell at highly elevated prices.
It's worth what an enthusiast is willing to pay for it.
Whatever that might be...
I too have drawers with "stuff" in them.

One man's junk is another man's treasure.
If a non outboard person looked in my shed,I know what word he would be thinking.
I don't like anyone looking in my drawers.

One thing about the side mounts, who the hell would drill a hole in the side of their boat to actually fit one???

I've just found my Ali G, Keith, no part numbers on the G's, can you post a pic of yours Jon, so I can see where it was, to see if my G's are the same as yours & the if number has been removed.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
