I have a 1972 40 plus I have got some RTV silicone sealant, I have managed to salvage the copper gasket from the cylinder I also have gasket paper to make my own, any experience/advice would be good.

Gaskets/Sealant if anyone can give advice, what is the best sealant to use when reassembling the seagull engine

I suspect your lack of response is due to the fact that this question has been asked & answered many times before, have a search back in time.
Seagull used 10 thou gasket paper, anneal the head gasket, RTV one side only on paper gaskets & no RTV snots into water jacket.
