My Goddess man, you will be on TV... a star! The media will already be flying around there. Is Australian Story still on ABC?
"Man as one with the Elements with his ancient Seagull"
You will need a Hemingway fish to bring home.

I think anyone who contemplates doing a bass strait crossing in an old boat with a couple of dirty smelly old seagulls for company is totally raving loony nut case mad and I wish I could go on the trip as the madness would be excellent

i'm sure there will be enough "madness" of a different sort a bit closer to home here in Bristol in the summer.
The canals may be a safer environment for pleasure boating, but the motors are still of "that age" that nothing should be left to chance.
Still, at least you'll never be far from dry land i suppose.
I can't wait

Shame that the initial plans have had to change slightly for Bass Strait (i bet Allegra had something to do with it, cant say i blame her really) but there will be other chances for a fair crack later on in the year.
