carb connection 1979 forty plus
I have recently acquired a 1979 Forty plus...after cleaning all, and adding new fuel I have a leak from where the fuel line attaches to the carb, there is a small vent or ?? (above left of the fitting with single screw) where fuel comes out...cannot find any pictures to show proper position or anything for this model...can anyone help? ...
Re: carb connection 1979 forty plus
Sounds like the float is not shutting off and fuel is coming out the "flood" hole! Check to see it the float floats and if the valve shuts off.

Is this a Bing carb or a Villiers carb. Can you say where on the diagram fuel is leaking from
Wherever it does sound as though your float valve is not seating correctly

Or is it an Amal 416?
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Is the villers carb ment to have a gauze filter an the air cleaner? And is the storm shroud just a seagull thing?

No gauze air filter on the Villiers carb if its filled to a seagull, I have one in the shed off a villiers mower and yes its a seagull thing, I had one once, it didn't last long.
