Side play in mount?
Is the part of the mount that stays attached to the boat bent wider, allowing sideplay? I can see the cross pin thing is bent. If so do I leave it, add spacers or attemp to bend it narrower Im debating the later, using a mallet, or preferably a vice.
Re: Side play in mount?
You can just screw it in a little more to take up any play.
Unbolt the other pin at the other end of the transom, unscrew and straighten the top pin, then screw it back up to reduce the play that you have.

Re: Side play in mount?
I wouldn't be overly worried about a little bit of side play (most of them do this to some degree)
As per Keiths suggestion, replace or straighten the brass stud that holds the 2 halves together (along with the smaller stud at the thrust block end)
All you really need to do is adjust the gap at the top of the mounting to reduce and slop by screwing in/out each half of the mount (smaller stud removed before you do this though)
If in doubt just ask

Thanks to you both. This aspect of how the mount width adjusts wasn't readily apparent to me. Worked perfectly.
