My last work.

It's my sixth restoration : A Forty Plus FPL march 1969.
I chose to not pain the gearbox and the propeller but to make only a polishing.

looks very impressive. My dear old 40+ has been with me for 35 years now and still gets regular outings!!! and not surprisingly it is rather oily and unpolished!! but its reliable and after a resent gearbox overhaul is mechanically as good as new. However when I see the carful work that other put into their restoration projects I sometimes think I should get the polish and buff out.... but some how, whenever I get that urge, I end up just putting them on the back of the dinghy and going for a run.. As Seagull noted; give a good rub down with an oily rag and sit them upright on a dry rack. They never let me down!!

AJ

PS I love it that you have left the dents in the tank, is character and history shines through!

Very nice work. 8)

I'd love to know how you clean up all those aluminium parts, especially the cylinder head, so well.

To answer to AusAnzani , I use a Dremel with little brushrolls hard ,medium and fine.
After I use Belgome for final polishing.
But in first I use " de l'huile de coude "! (elbow oil) ;-)))
