Yes I have made some from brass, now I tried with aluminum. Since it's easier to get it I can fit such trumpets to other engines if I want to.
I love the 10600/145 turns!!!

I have made some from brass
One reason brass tiller arms are getting hard to find.

Look good but Not practical as far easier to start using choke.

Starting is easy, use your hand or, if you only have one, fashion a bung with a hole through the centre, Start the engine then slowly remove the bung

The older ones don't have a choke anyway, so its easier with a trumpet.

I like the bung with a hole idea ....obviously you need both hands one to hold it back and one to pull ...

What a dream to live in Greece....get up at 10 go for a run in the boat with a favourite Seagull
get home have siesta....make a couple of amal trumpets and cables ...
Go again in the yacht with favourite SD running...nice run then siesta at sea...back home nice Food...Hummus , olives
run up favourite century on the balcony...watch a bit of telly....go sleep...do it all again tomorrow!....nice! :P

In the weekend maybe and provided you are next to the sea. In general terms you are describing vacations. It's a dream leaving in Greece since you have solved your economical problem.
Visit any famous Greek island in winter and you'll see :lol:
