I have a 1974 Forty Plus. I've removed the flywheel and I do not see a condensor.
Should there be one somewhere?

Re: Coil
Hi the condenser is built into this ignition sytem
Re: Coil
In other words, you can not access the condensor, it is somewhere in the black blob of plastic. Now it depends on what the defect is of the condensor.bikerboyfife wrote:Hi the condenser is built into this ignition sytem
-1- the condensor has developed a short.
-2- the condensor is an open circuit.
The second possibility is the easiest to fix. Buy a condensor for a Villiers, and connect this parallel to the points. Fixed! Not perfect, but works probably.
The first possibility takes a lot of work. Someone on this forum has already taken apart a Wipac. The condensor has to be disconnected and then you can continue as possibility one. If in doubt, ask someone who knows about electronics.
Good luck
