2 jet amal

Post by O'Dubhain82 »

Hi all.
Recently aquired a 102 with 2 jet amal carb for racing.
Was seized but the grease pump and drift sorted out the piston.
The next problem is the slide in the carb. It's moving, but very far from freely. The problem is I can't get it out to work on it. Any one come across this before?

I first soaked it with carbie cleaner and if that doesn't free I remove the jets with the amal jet removing tool and used a drive that will fit through the hole of where the jet was mounted against the bottom of the slide and gently tapped it out. Seems to work ok as I have got a few old amals going again

Thanks for the reply Chris. I was a bit unsure about removing the jets. Will try it now.
