Anzani Pilot Wobble pump?

Anzani Pilot Wobble pump?
The wobble pump squish rubber has almost dissolved on my unit, I can buy sutable thickness rubber sheet from Ebay but could do with a dimensioned drawing showing its size & original shape, Does anyone have such info please? The Johnson supplier of their early squish rubber units seems to have disappeared so I need to make one unless anyone knows of a supplier still existing? Thanks, Roger...

Try posting your question on http://www.aomci.org in the ask a member section someone will likely be able to suggest a supplier or give you an address of a club member who makes them.
Do you have the Johnson part number? What is the year and model? If you have the p/n try it at http://www.marineengine.com
I see that www.vintageoutboard.com has the rotor impellers for the 5 hp Johnson TD model as well as the similar one for the up to 5 hp Gale (omc) and Sea kings

Hello Charles, the rubber I need is for an Anzani Pilot but I have been led to beleve that the 1946 Johnson TD/TS is of a compatible size. Have you any idea?

I have the same same set up on my Sea king, I wouldn't know if its the same size, not without pulling it off.

There is a US one that does fit. It has a contoured face on one side, a sunken ring. I can not remember which one. The tang is wider and needs paring down is all. Else OK.

Thanks for the info gentlemen, looks like a toss up between an American inport or diy with silicone rubber sheet from Ebay. Your experiances are most valuable!

Just a suggestion, but it is my understanding that the tolerances for clearance with the driving eccentric and the pump case sides are quite critical. It would seem most difficult to cut the proper shape and the center hole to the required tolerances from a rubber sheet about 1/2" thick. The flexibility of the rubber and its ability to respond to deformation and return to a semblance of original shape without shedding material are fairly critical as well.
There have been discussions on the AOMCI forums about the rubber rotors being damaged by grease or oil leaking past the lower unit seals swelling the rubber rotor with the result that they will not pump water.
If it were me I would order the proper one. That said, I do enjoy making as many parts as I can, but now I'm a little more choosy about what I will attempt to make.
By the way, there is a product called Flexane 80, the 80 denotes a hardness level of the resulting urethane (rubber)
I believe this is what is used by the two AOMCI members who make impellers if you send them your old one. It may also be what is used commercially. The hardness of the final product can be varied by addition of a product supplied by the manufacturer. What I'm not certain of is the typical hardness number for various types of impeller style and rotor style impellers. The down side is the whole approx. one liter can needs to be used at one time due to issues of quality after air exposure. There is a book that describes the process and the learning curve implied.

OD = 41.54mm
ID = 20.79mm
Thickness = 12.8mm
The hole is centrally located in the pump eccentric.
The pump eccentric is a few mm smaller in diameter than the recess in the pump body. As the rotor rotates, water is pumped between the outside of the pump eccentric and the pump body.
Tang 8.07mm wide
Tang length = 8.2mm

I am trying to remove the Pump Body from the Gear Housing, of a British Anzani Pilot 30.
I have successfully removed the Pump Cover Plate and the Pump Eccentric.
I cannot work out how to remove the Pump Body. It seems to be held in place by the Water Inlet Pipe 28".
Please could someone tell me how to remove the Pump Body.

Hi Jim
Drop the gearbox off the leg......Pipe stays and pulls out of lower plate.
Two bigger screws and the bearing carrier comes away showing gear internals.
Pics should help aye.
The gearbox drops away when you undo 3 screws from under exhaust fitting.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a gear housing oil seal for a British Anzani Pilot 30?
I have looked on eBay and can see none of the correct shape. Or the same shape as on my motor.
I can find an oil seal that looks like this:
