I have just returned from the mainland with a van full of goodies... Evinrude Storm Boat Motor,ELTO Cub and British Anzani Unitwin. I have included a picture of my "other" Anzani B class racing motor, the one with the Unitwin flywheel magneto! I've never seen one converted like that before.Unfortunately there is a lot of wear in shaft so it will need "surgery" The Unitwin runs well,I'm not sure if it's 10 or 15hp,haven't checked much yet... We aren't ready to start the big Evinrude yet,the frame ain't strong enough! ELTO Cub is dead...so far.

Remember, dust and dirt are the enemies of all moving parts...keep your motor clean and it will repay you!
I stripped the B class Anzani to find out why it was tight to turn and discovered lower bearing was "dry as a rats nest" I will sort that easily.I haven't got around to starting the big Evinrude yet as I have back injury and my son will have to come and help,as I want him to be here when (if) it starts! We are busy getting the boats ready at present...the duck season starts here on Sept 1st so we're getting ready for the offensive!

Could you post some more pictures of your class B, as the head, cylinder & carb look right but the little I can see of the crankcase looks unitwin, does it have an engine number.
A pic of the leg, lower unit, crankcase interior & crankshaft would answer a lot of questions.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Hi Charlie,it's a genuine UK B class (62mm bore). The lower unit is not the streamlined type but it has a massive prop compared to my MK1 version! The tightness was due to "crap" in bearings, I cleaned everything and all seems ok now. I hope the pictures help to identify this motor,it looks like someone has stuck a Unitwin ignition on the motor instead of the gear driven magneto.I fitted new HT leads and timed the motor and it starts and runs now...

That number is a casting number not the engine number, the engine number on a B racer will found under the righthand unitwin carry handle when facing sternwards & should read SO 1111 BR, the BR stands for class B racer & the 1111 the serial number, the class B crankcase has a steel core plug in that boss in the middle where the inlet tract was opened up & a vaccumn outlet pipe just above it as they had a pumped fuel system not gravity like the unitwin, that looks like a unitwin leg & lower unit.
Have another look for the serial number.
2 bladed prop is from a 10hp unitwin, 3 blade 15hp.
What does concern me is how does the cooling system work?
