Mercury school bus
Here is an old outboard that just did service as a school bus for a few days. Distance education measured in leagues and knots. 1970s 7.5 hp twin which after a couple years of eating parts has become reliable (touch wood). Smooth, Quiet and lots of pep. Originally traded it for a lawn tractor that I bought for 50 dollars at a 'going to prison' sale.

Yeah life is tough for the boy. He has it figured out that if he keeps his nose in the books momma makes dad do all the chores and he still gets the fun parts of fishing/hunting. oh well he aint ever texted or played a video game so I can't complain.

Re: Mercury school bus
I have been looking on the AOMCI site for pictures of a guy that buys old school buses, the big yellow long ones.
He stores his outboards in them, he can get 2 on the back of every seat.
From what I remember he has a few of these buses and the school that he bought is also full of engines including the sports hall.
We are only playing at it, when it comes to outboard collecting.
Perhaps Phil can find the pictures.
Could be more OMC than "Mercury school bus"
David do you still need a 40+ crank, should be able to get in the shed this weekend.

Re: Mercury school bus
H-A I am all taken care of for 40 plus parts. Thanks alot I appreciate you thinking of me. Next pics of my Bolger Seahawk will be with a Long leg on her stern. I am feeling very lucky to have the chance to get it back together for reasonable money as the wife just got accepted to med school today and I don't see many new outboards getting added to the stable for an awful long time. Lucky I took 'bits money' out of the account this morning
Sure are some swell fellows on this forum.
