tcorrect tiller for a 102 TC 1963

I am revitalizing a TC 102 Made in 1963. Please tell me if the correct original tiller is the same as earlier 102's that are kept on and friction adjusted with a big wing nut? Or is it correct to have a tiller same as used on most 40+ and century's?

It has the newer type tiller, the old 102's have a rounder mount.

Yes, the same tiller fitted to later century and forty models.

Good too see the TC arrived safely.

Pre 1957? 102's have the big tiller stub crankcase with rubber bushing tiller and wing nut.

After 1957? they changed the crankcase casting and using the later style tiller with stud and castle nut.

BTW the position of the clutch rod to the clutch lever is wrong. In neutral you can 'hook' the clutch rod end on the exhaust clamp.

Jan, Please tell me the correct way the shift should be put. Should the rod end point the other way? OR? WB

Rod end should point towards exhaust. the end should just hook over the exhaust clamp. It does tend to slip off

Hello guys,

A TCL saw some of his family on that balcony, came down and settle at my home!
I am writing to this post as there are some similarities to the one Waterbug has. The serial is TCL 835W7, after Charles letting me know that "W" is wrong and it should be an "M" upside down that makes it manufactured on November 1967. This model was supposed to be produced until 1966 so some messing up has occurred. 1967 is the year that the MK2 started to be used. Mine has an MK2 with the big flywheel holes and the plastic case on the points. The tiller, the thrust block and the cylinder is the same as Waterbug's. But the water pump housing looks like a much later one. The tank is a long range one and the exhaust made of alloy.

How does all these sound? Original or bitsa?
All parts has the same dirt on so in case changes have occurred it should have happened many years ago.

Not the only one stamped with a "W".
Only what I read.

speculates that the 'W' was added in place of the month letter when an outboard was fitted with a Wipac (Mk 2) ignition assembly.
