Swordfish, Aust Olympic, Villiers.

Had a good weekend, I picked up a Swordfish that turns over about 300 degrees, it just won't go the ful 360 because the s-plugs have been left out.
I also managed to pick up a Silver Century with only a small dint in the fuel tank, but it has been resting for quiet some time.
the next pick up was a Villiers Outboard, I'm not sure about this one but I think someone has used a lawn mower Villiers motor and adapted it.
The last scavenge led me to a box of what I thought were Seagull parts, but on closer inspection found the Australian Olympic rope sheave
amongst the parts, unfortunately not all the bits are there.

The Swordfish is missing the Solex Carb.....if anybody has a few in their shed....

Olympic bits is a great start, shelve them away for later. You will find another one with the missing bits now you know what to look for. You will need a complete other to get one together so do not get carried away trying to find bits seperately for this one.

The "Swordfish" is more likely Triton........the tank is incorrect and modified to fit heads. (ALL tritons had removable heads........)One way to make sure if Triton, look at the casting numbers on the gearbox (I can not zoom in with detail your gearbox and need to see the other side to count water intake holes etc) let me know?

The Brittannia only had Amal and the Triton only had Solex Type 22 DH/2/S/1633. Below are front pics.

Thanks Bruce, the silencer on mine is cast in one piece and does not have the bolts on top.It does have numbers on it ,

It has removable heads which I have managed to remove without any colateral damage and it now rotates
the full 360 deg. however i am having a bit of trouble getting the fly wheel off.Used heat etc but still won't budge,
i suspect someone has all ready had ago at it because the holes have been re-tapped to 5/16th WW.
There was a lot of SPOS in the cylinders from wasps but no serious damage.
Have to stop tinkering for a couple of days to mind Grand kids,Iwill check the casting number 2morrow.

Hi Bruce the gear case number is BES 5782

and the silencer has BES 5748

The numbers are not Triton.

Brit it is those parts.

Not convinced as yet the heads?.................................thinking.

Pic below is of Triton, Triton barrels and heads go straight on to a Brit...........and you are in OZ..........so maybe a graft about 1959 - 63?

It has been done before with claims that Brit actually came out with these before their demise but I can not verify anything else than Brits having one piece iron jugs right to the last daze re Swordfish. I believe a mythtake...............

Thanks for all that info B, also good pic of the silencer vent of how it should be. On mine someone has made up a
cable attachement so it can be controlledd from the tiller which I thought was not right
