Victa Jet Outboard Wanted in NZ

Post by Rex NZ »

It's been long on my wish list to find a Victa Jet outboard

Must be in NZ as shipping from Ozzy will be horrendous

Can be missing the powerhead as these are fairly easy to obtain

Here's pic from the main SOS site of a beautifully restored example

Is it from the same people that did the mower?

Hi Keith

Yes it's got the mower powerhead.

I think 125cc was OEM, but they go better with the 160cc powerhead, so I hear

Saw that one on Ebay. Looks like good value. They come up in Oz from time to time. They virtually never appear in NZ. Very annoying. Buggered if & can figure out how to get one here.

My only thought on getting one in NZ would be to holiday in Oz & smuggle a dismantled outboard less the powerhead into my baggage & hope it doesn't trigger too much weight.

Would make a good practical everyday outboard. Maybe a bit of a mod would be to make an underwater exhaust, keep the noise down. :D

I used to a Victor mower, It was an old thick aluminum body one, the only drawback was that useless plastic carb.
If I remember rightly it was a pretty heavy lump of an engine.

Lots of noise and no power.

Down under collectors must have one to be legit however.

C-I
Lots of noise and no power.
True

But, probably one of the more practical Jet outboards, Compared to the Anzani jet or the Warren Jet.
