Re: Good Guys .
I've got the fly wheel back from the automotive balancers . he said it's nicely centred , but he still had to drill out an area to balance it . as well as rheem my pocket . So waiting on a few other bronze brass pieces left still to complete this 102 .
In the mean time I've got a number of race motors I'm working on , Most for the standard 102 /sliver century class in the Waikato River race , and one that may end up modified if the performance warrants it . So it's back to the shed

If you're polishing your bits yourself, you probably don't need a girlffriend..!!

And I dunno about you, but no matter how long I polish my bits for, they never seem to get shiny.....

I meet another good guy today , he's over 80 ,not after the publicity, those that know him respect that .
he has collected and restored a number of gulls in the last twenty years and gave me permission to take a few photos

As you can see quite a few Sliver Centuries , what is so astounding is the number and the standard of finish , the petrol tanks , not a blemish all in high gloss black .

He even had one that had no chance of going ! The enjoyment came from seeing the man's pride in his obsession and hearing the tales that came along with . A great way to spend an afternoon .

You got a glimpse of heaven my friend...Seagull heaven. Thanks for sharing.
I just hope that down the road (or river), his beneficiairies who inherit this priceless realm of mechanical beauties will have the same passion and devotion as your noble purist friend.

You guys are certainly good guys ! I have had model T s and now have a model A have a hit and miss antique engine and have met some fine people all ways ready to help . For 30 years I have all ways loved the look of a seagull 20 years ago I had a small sail boat and wanted to buy a seagull . The guy at the boat yard said why would you want one of those smelly cantankerous things go get a johnson or evenrude well thats what I did and have felt cheated . Well one month ago I got an E mail a guy close buy had a very nice seagull well went to see it and it followed me home . He said he had had it for 4 years and used it for display only . It had spark and good compression the tank did not even smell of gas or that stale smell . I took a chance mixed fuel in a baby bottle and on the second pull off it went guess I got a good one . I love simple things . I go down my basement and smile at it and it is smiling back . Maybe a flat back canoe is in my future . Thanks for all the help . If we don't preserve history it will be gone for ever . Thanks happy VIC

I have bought seagull's in the past, sight unseen and I have ended up with an ex boat anchor.
The last picture of the restored Seagull, with the metal fuel pipe.
What model is it?
I have only seen that style fuel pipe on early FVP, FP, models, but this looks like a late model with a tank sticker not a decal.
