HT Lead Replacing

Post by spiderg »

Can anyone tell me how to replace the HT lead cable, especially into the fitting at the magneto? Is it simply screwed into this sealed unit?

Yes it has a screw inside, it also holds the spring, try not to damage the spring.

Thanks Keith, I thought it was screwed but felt safer to check. Being a tight ars.d Scotsman, it would be painful having to buy a replacement part.

Is there availiable that kind of springs? I have one badly corroded and I replace it with one DIY from copper from a wire.
I love the 10600/145 turns!!!

Something like an old style motor brush spring may do the job, if you can find the right size.

Maybe John SOS can supply something, he usually gets anything we ask for.
