Hi dose any one really know what the real depth should be is it 1 inch above the chrome exhaust tube or 2 inches above the aluminum exhaust outlet hole ??? Thanks VIC

The Owners Handbook says "with the exhaust outlet only an inch or so below the surface" but you do need to ensure that the water pump is submerged. So more like the "or so" than "an inch" IMHO.

So long as the pump is deep enough to pump cooling water its not critical.

My Featherweight will start without difficulty submerged to the point that water is almost coming over the transom.
