Anzani outboard
Just bought off ebay for £31 (although one more complete and running has just sold for £6). It was just 2 miles off the M6 on my way back to Skye.
Missing the carb cover but seems in good condition with lots of aluminium bits to clean up.
My first non- seagull . I know nothing of Anzani's so will be a steep learning curve. Any help appreciated.
I assume the SS stands for super single. Tranfers on tank are all but gone.

That collection is growing by the minute
Keith P is very well up on Anzanis.
I have found a few interesting non seagulls at reasonable prices, just finding parts, but that's part of the fun!

I don't know much more than anyone else.Keith P is very well up on Anzanis.
£31, is not bad, I did have three of them but only held on to the 40's version.
I have some parts about.
Yours is a later one, the flywheel nut will pull the flywheel off, the ignition plate will need a fiddle to stop it rubbing, as they are thin and always rub, also the tanks not mounted right, nothing major.
The carb Is the right one, Zenith, thing
It has no impeller, so you cannot run it in a tank, (see holes in prop) unless you use an external water supply and don't pull the nose of the gearbox off.

Re: Anzani outboard
Thanks for that (Keith.P) really good operating instructions. Luckily the yellow pipe in the pictures IS an external water supply.
The parts list shows a simple slotted oval grill but pictures of other super singles show a rotating circular grill. It is mssing on mine.
pt no 017641.

Re: Anzani outboard
Yours is a late motor, they didn't all have the fancy vent.
This Carb was off a later SS.

Also have spare long drive tubs if needed, I turned the ones I had into short shafts.

Re: Anzani outboard
Again thanks . I notice the george at villiers parts can refurbish Wipac 161 ignitions. May need that later.
At 18 inches transom bracket to cavitation plate (23 inches to prop centre) I assume mine is short shaft. I do need a long shaft
I will pop it one the boat and see what it looks like. New trailer parts coming this via e-trailer. Aluminium axle and indi suspension units.

Re: Anzani outboard
The ignition is pretty basic, I would think that's something you could do yourself, I gave my last ignition away.
If you need as long shaft, I think I have one or two about, obviously the pipework will need extending.
The drive is like the seagull, 40's version is a solid round bar.
If you need to replace a decal, I made my own ones for my 10hp.

I will get it running before I start thinking about the long or short of it. I did see your logo. brilliant. Will find it via search and see if I can do something similar.

Re: Anzani outboard
New trailer axle just arrived via tnt. My old trailer had a leafspring suspension , iffy brearings , badly worn rollers (30 years old).
Just needs holes drilling for wheel arches and tie rods. Pads at each end look big enough to do both.
Better value than a new trailer or buying the bits seperately plus was made to order.
I had already replaced centre rollers , winch and towing hitch

Re: Anzani outboard
It's always looked like a hammered blue, like Hammerite.
Take your tank with you, you may be able to get a colour made up.
I think the tank colour code at Halfords is, H,O,W,M,U,C,H, !,!.

Tube nuts on tank proving difficult to remove as one stud is loose. One stud was broken -- that's why the tank support was wrong.
I may get away with the standard shaft as the cavition plate is just about livable with. Plus it will turn through 180 Deg.

Re: Anzani outboard
The cooling system is a syphon type as you may have studied up on by now.
See these holes?
NONE of them should be in airated water! Cooling flow stops.
Water must be lamina flow, no bubbles.
Enjoy tinkering with it, they are lumpy, grumpy and fun.
