Going back to the posts about fuel tap filters - I've just realised a couple of my plastic tanks have adaptors which screw into the tank and have a filter fitted, into which the fuel tap screws. With this setup, there is nowhere for a more regullar filter-on-tap to go - the only thing that could fit is a tap without a filter, so this must explain the apparent 'filterless' taps.

The fuel cap that came with it has 1 to 10 oil mix. As I'm sure these are 1 to 25 does anyone have photo of correct cap or was this an oversight of Seagull?

The correct fuel cap for a Curlew just has 'British Seagull' on it and then a plain area - ie. no reference to fuel mixture

What does this little jet in the middle of the pic do and where does it disappear to?

Oh, and what is this threaded hole for on the tank mount?

I think that the hole in the first picture is part of the emulsion system to equalise all the internal air pressures.

The tapped hole is for the parking boss when it's fitted with a remote fuel system.

Does that tank bracket have a carry handle?

I must drag mine out and sort out its cooling problem, when it gets hot it stops pumping water out of the head outlet.

Well... still have cutting out problem but I'm pretty sure it is the carby. Any other gull's carby fit this just for testing purposes? Happy with water circulation and water cooled exhaust stays quiet and so kewl....

That fuel filter that you have on there" Is that an aftermarket type. Or is it a seagull part. Maybe if you try one single length of fuel line without a fuel filter and see how it runs. If its ok then. Try a different filter. Great job on bringing this one to life to . Ive been following this thread quite a bit.

Yep, plenty of test tanks.....though some silly buggers are putting rubbish in them....

Pleased my back was up to getting motor into bin. Looking forward to the crabbing season.

Fuel flow is the same pre and post fuel filter so that is not the cause though I did consider that. Might hit the carby with carb cleaner and compressed air as there was quite a bit of crap in there and she is hunting a bit as well and not idling too well.

Good to see that these later models have retained one of Seagulls endearing characteristics....
